Cubesat calibrators and analog deployment for CHORD

The Canadian Calibrator for Radio Telescopes (CARAT) is a proposed cubesat project that will provide a coherent noise source in low-Earth orbit to measure the beam of CHORD (Canadian Hydrogen Observatory and Radio-transient Detector) and CHIME (Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment). I will discuss the feasibility and initial development of CARAT through link budgets, estimated SNRs, and orbit comparisons. Upcoming work on this project will include using drones as a platform to prototype and field test the CARAT payload. Finally, I will briefly discuss ongoing work on the analog deployment of CHORD.
