Abstract

Hyperspectral imagers for the study of massive stars nebulae

Laurent Drissen (Université Laval & CRAQ)

the SpIOMM & SITELLE teams

Tony has taught his students a lot about massive stars, but he also encouraged us to extract as much information as possible from their light by using all kinds of instruments in all wavebands. I followed his advice and designed and built during the past few years, with my own students, wide-field imaging Fourier transform spectrometers which are capable of obtaining the spatially resolved visible spectrum of extended sources (12 arcminutes FOV). I will introduce this technology and present some results on WR ring nebulae (NGC 6888) and supernova remnants (Cas A, NGC 6992)
(to be confirmed by the SOC)
